In general, the Accounting Manager is responsible for producing a monthly trial balance to the Controller according to GAAP and Governmental Accounting Standards. In this process the Accounting Manager will work with and coordinate the accounting staff towards this end.
Essential job functions
Duties
· Manage the period end closing process through a trial balance for the Controller to review and compile financial statements.
· Cash management including bank liaison, initiation of account and wire transfers, recording of cash management transactions into the accounting records, investments, and bank reconciliations.
· Account for construction in process and process assets and projects put into service.
· Assist with annual audit preparation and prepare schedules.
· Manage the annual renewal and ongoing tasks associated with Property & Casualty Insurance programs.
· Serve as biweekly payroll processing backup.
· Assist the Controller and Director of Finance with miscellaneous assigned projects and tasks.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
· Five - seven years of as an accounting manager in a GASB environment
· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP
